Assiniboine: The Great Canadian Rockies
OIL 72″ x 48″ x 1.5″
As the wise Chiefs of the First Nation’s would say of the great Canadian landscapes: “When a man moves away from nature his heart becomes hard.”
So is the love of this great land. This painting reflects the vibrancy of the Assiniboine mountains bordering on the Great Divide of Alberta and British Columbia.
The Park in which these mountains are located in does not have any roads and thus can only be reached by a six-hour hike or 3-hour bike ride.
This allows for an untarnished communion between Mother Nature and those who walk its trails, be it human or beast.
For truly this is what Canada’s landscapes have to offer: a marriage between earth and the great heavens above.
